Posted on 27 March 2008 by Bruce
iDesk 1.5 has now been released!
Apparently someone forgot to notify me that the new release of iDesk was made available for download.
The list of improvements is huge and have been detailed in my recent postings. Here for those wondering are the requirements for iDesk 1.5
Basic Requirements
- UNIX / Linux / FreeBSD / Solaris / Windows
- Apache, IIS or any web server that supports PHP
- PHP 5.0.0 or higher
- MySQL 4.00 or higher
- Task scheduler to run POP3 email processing routines. (Windows)
Recent Improvements
- Content of the email is displayed by a mouseover when viewing the tickets
- Admin has the ability to strip HTML from emails or view email naturally
- Mail in the inbox can be marked as spam and is sent to the Spam Tickets mailbox
- Spam filtering via akismet
- Search by ticket number (feature was missing in it’s last release)
- Compatibility with PHP5
- Browser caching disabled
- Security fixes
- The ability to view email headers
- Ability to view raw email (headers and message)
- Stripping out javascript and meta tags for security purposes
- Collapseable emails resulting in less scrolling necessary to view long tickets.
With the release of 1.5 I will do some minor testing and should be offering hosted helpdesks shortly.
