A bug was just discovered in version 1.6.2 of iDesk

This bug fixes an issue where users are able to see all departments, even if some are marked as hidden.

Possible iDesk flaw found

A flaw was found in iDesk today by myself and has been reported to the programmer. This flaw could be considered a vulnerability.

No details of this flaw will be released until after a fix has been released.

I hope a patch is made available as well as a patched version so no major upgrades need to occur.

PEAR.php issue

A user recently encountered the following error after installing iDesk 1.5

Fatal error : require_once() [ function.require ]: Failed opening required ‘PEAR.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /x/x/x/x/x/lib/core/mimedecode.php on line 65

iDesk and SMTP

Some users may want to use SMTP instead of PHP to send email. Yes iDesk is capable of sending mail via SMTP but unfortunately it is undocumented.
